Pallet Series

Pallet Series began with the appropriation of standard-sized packing pallets I found discarded around Liverpool's docking area. I repaired and painted each pallet in two contrasting colours with a black line around the contours creating a production line of "unique" pop-art sculptures.

The "luxury hand painted" pallets were then distributed for use on building sites, farms, trading estates and workshops and, where possible, documented during their new use-lifespan.

Pallet Series explored the crossovers between painting and sculpture, and of culture replacing industry, providing a visual pun that brought together ideas of taste, construction, labour, art, and the everyday.
